Big News About “Special Guest” for Trump’s Inauguration

Country music star Garth Brooks is reportedly in talks to perform at President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration on Jan. 20, according to Reuters.
“Garth has performed for the five living presidents,” Brooks’ publicist Nancy Seltzer said Friday. “While rumor has it that he has been asked to perform for President-elect Trump, he has not been able to commit yet.”
Brooks performed at President Barack Obama’s inauguration in 2009, and when asked by TMZ about the possibility of performing for Trump at his inauguration he said, “It’s always about serving. It’s what you do.”
The left has seized on the opportunity to claim that Trump has struggled to get whiny celebrities to perform at his inauguration — which, if true, might be a badge of honor — but Trump’s team denied the suggestion that there have been any issues.
“We have world-class talent, world-class entertainers reaching out to us offering their help, offering their services, so no struggle whatsoever,” Boris Epshteyn, communications director for Trump’s inaugural committee, told ABC News Friday.
The theme of the inauguration was announced by Trump’s team on Friday to be “Make America Great Again,” the theme that Trump used during the campaign.
In contrast to Obama, Trump will attend only two official inaugural balls, whereas our celebrity in chief attended 10.

“This is a workmanlike inaugural. This is not a coronation,” Epshteyn said. “And you’ve seen some inaugurals in the past that maybe did seem like a coronation. Again, it’s every president’s choice. This president wants to get to work.”
What a refreshing change. After eight years of a celebrity president more concerned about his golf game and late night television shows than his job, this is nice to see.
It’s not surprising that there would be some celebrities who would petulantly refuse to perform, but Epshteyn’s comments aren’t surprising either, as there are conservatives in Hollywood (and of course in Nashville) as well as other places who may not agree with Trump politically but who recognize the extraordinary opportunity — and understand what “tolerance” really means.

Garth Brooks

Country singer Garth Brooks is in talks to play at President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration this January,Reuters reported.

“Garth has performed for the five living presidents,” Brooks’s publicist Nancy Seltzer said. “While rumor has it that he has been asked to perform for President-elect Trump, he has not been able to commit yet.”
Brooks performed at President Obama’s first inauguration in 2009 alongside a list of performers that included Bruce Springsteen, U2, Beyoncé, and Stevie Wonder.
Many of music’s biggest names such as Beyoncé, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, and Jay Z sided with Hillary Clinton this past election season.
No stars have been announced for Trump’s inauguration, but the president-elect’s team denies that it is having trouble attracting top talent to perform at the ceremony.
“We have world-class talent, world-class entertainers reaching out to us offering their help, offering their services so no struggle, whatsoever,” inaugural committee spokesman Boris Epshteyn told ABC News.
Brooks said earlier this month to TMZ that he would open to playing Trump’s inauguration.
“It’s always about serving,” he said. “It’s what you do.”

The theme for the inauguration will be the same slogan as his campaign, “Make America Great Again.”
