CHECK YOUR CALENDAR -- IS GOD ON IT?

Examine today what you fill your time with, the pattern you have chosen that is now "routine." Compare the time you spend in distractions away from God and the time you choose to make with God.

How can you grow in faith and maturity in Christ when you fill your mind and heart with and TIME with computers, phones, games, TV, movies, sports, parties, and other activities? How will you anchor your soul in security in Christ if you do not place God and His Word and His Ways as the FIRST PRIORITY in your time?

Satan uses those distractions to allure your lusts, your selfish desires, your pleasures of earth... he'll distract then tempt you into even more ways of the world in them. How can you build your faith, trust and hope in the Lord when you build walls of the world away from God?

Many sit in a pew on Sundays. Many volunteer in church and other community organizations. These can be good endeavors, BUT DID YOUR TIME ALONE WITH GOD, TALKING TO GOD, EXAMINING YOUR LIFE THROUGH THE WORD, TAKING GOD'S DIRECTIONS FOR YOUR DAY COME FIRST? What voices do you follow in the world of humans while ignoring the voice of God? How will you know how to discern man's voices with God's voice IF YOU DO NOT MAKE TIME TO HEAR HIM, TO UNDERSTAND HIS DIRECTION FOR YOUR LIFE ? ? ? Has the approval of your peers, friends and family been given rise over honoring God first?

Read these words below of Tozer and stop the world race long enough to honestly look at the things you choose for your time each day. What you make time for reveals where your priorities are in your heart.

IS GOD AT THE HEART OF YOUR DAYS HE HAS GIVEN TO YOU? Are your works for the Kingdom of God using the gifts he has given you or have you given over your life for the pleasures and desires of the world? For self-gain and satisfaction? To elevate yourself in the eyes of others?

DO YOU NOT KNOW WHO GOD IS? THE FEAR OF THE LORD IS ALL WISDOM. Check your calendar. IS GOD WRITTEN ON IT?

Distractions of Modern Civilization   (By A.W. Tozer in "Of God and Men")

"Modern civilization is so complex as to make the devotional life all but impossible. It wears us out by multiplying distractions and beats us down destroying our solitude, where otherwise we might drink and renew our strength, before going out to face the world again. "The thoughtful soul to solitude retires," said the poet of other and quieter times; but where is the solitude to which we can retire today? "Commune with your own heart upon your bed and be still," is a wise and healing counsel; but how can it be followed in this day of the newspaper, the telephone, the radio and television? These modern playthings, like pet tiger cubs, have grown so large and dangerous that they threaten to devour us all. What was intended to be a blessing has become a positive curse. No spot is now safe from the world's intrusion. The need for solitude and quietness was never greater than it is today. What the world will do about it is their problem. Apparently the masses want it the way it is, and the majority of Christians are so completely conformed to this present age that they, too, want things the way they are. They may be annoyed a bit by the clamor and by the goldfish-bowl existence they live, but apparently they are not annoyed enough to do anything about it."
