Easter is a Dirty Word: Tolerance Isn’t For Christians.

America wants tolerance? Well, they aren’t being tolerant of my religion! I am a victim, in my own country, for pursuing what our country was founded on—Christian principles!
Many of us have heard about the Alabama school, Heritage Elementary. Why? Because they just banned kids from saying “Easter” as they didn’t find it tolerant of other religions. Principal Lydia Davenport told WHNT, “So we’re just trying to make sure we respect and honor everybody’s differences.”

Alabama School Banishes "Easter"

Principal Lydia Davenport says the kids can still hunt eggs, but just can't call them "Easter" eggs for the sake of "religious diversity." She reconsidered the ban after meeting with district leaders, but still won't allow teachers to use the word "Easter." Teachers were informed that no religious activity was to be permitted, in the interest of religious diversity (ironic?).

What is tolerance? I understand it as: tol·er·ance
/ˈtälərəns/
Noun

1.The ability or willingness to tolerate something, in particular the existence of opinions or behavior that one does not necessarily agree with…”religious tolerance”

2.The capacity to endure continued subjection to something, esp. a drug, transplant, antigen, or environmental conditions, without adverse…
Aren’t they being intolerant of the Christian faith? Can’t we accept that they have freedom of thought and religion, without having to give up our American rights to free thought and religion? Tolerance has come to mean accepting anything other than Christianity. If it weren’t for our ethics, our country wouldn’t be where it is today. The least that these “tolerant” people could do is respect our history.

Don’t believe me? Why is it accepted for Muslim children to take prayer breaks, but we aren’t allowed to pray or read our Bibles in school? Where’s the logic in this? So, it’s okay for us to be offended, but if they’re offended, we’re racist, intolerant, pigs.

This is America, people! Let’s speak up while we still can. We’ve already let our culture twist our holidays into something unrecognizable from what they originally stood for. Now we’re going to let them change the terms too? Enough is enough.
Happy Easter, everyone! This is the day we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

“For if the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. If in Christ we have hope in this life only, we are of all people most to be pitied.
But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep. For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive.”
